Lumber co

Lumber Co. is closing 67 underperforming stores, but plans to open 125 new ones in the next three years.

The building material supplier said Tuesday the closures are part of an initiative aimed at reaching $10 billion in sales by 2009, American City Business Journals reported.

The company had about $4 billion in sales in 2005.The company said about 600 employees will be affected by the closures.
